I felt like a vegan clergywoman the other day while getting my teeth cleaned. I was in the chair unable to speak as my hygienist confessed that although she had eliminated most meat and dairy from her diet, she still craved eggs and fish. She seemed to feel guilty about it and so as soon as I had a chance to swish and speak, I absolved her of her transgressions and told her she was doing AWESOME!
Intentionally eating more plant based foods is a process that takes time, patience and self-love to get you through those uncomfortable moments. Let’s face it – sugar, dairy and processed foods are addictive and it’s hard for your mind to let go of those little dopamine bursts especially when they’re advertised everywhere. And at the beginning of your plant based journey you might feel tired or cranky because your body is eliminating toxins.
So if you feel like you need some support to go plant based or if you’re already eating plant based but you need some new recipes and ideas for meals and desserts, we’d love to see you at the Enough On My Plate Plant Based Lifestyle Support Group meetings. Check out the EVENTS tab at enoughonmyplate.com for information, dates, times and locations.
